AK0 carries out experimental, teaching, research and professional practice activities.

It was formed in 2009 with the aim of studying collective design methods and construction systems with a sustainable environmental footprint.

AK0 is a do-tank whose actions depend on the specific interventions it engages in, but with cultural and technological inputs that rely on a global network. Among the goals of AK0 is the promotion of construction methods utilizing natural materials and the exchange of knowledge and technological transfer between different contexts.

Along these lines, it has for some time been following with curiosity the activities of the Swiss association Acqua e Miele, with which in 2017 it decided to start a collaboration concerning the themes of architecture and, more generally, quality of life.
